The Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon

Ever buy a new car—say, a specific model and color—and suddenly feel like every person on the highway is driving the same vehicle?

In psychology, this is known as the Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon, or the Frequency Illusion.

It’s a cognitive bias where your brain, newly sensitized to a specific pattern, starts spotting it everywhere. The cars were always there; you just weren't paying attention.

In the physical world, it’s a trick of perception. But in the spiritual realm? It's far beyond an illusion.

The Spiritual Realm

When God breathed life into man, He didn't just wire us for biological survival; He gave us an innate capacity for pattern recognition and spiritual perception.

Only, just like Elisha’s servant cowering on the hillside in 2 Kings 6, our eyes blind us to the spiritual reality around us.

Surrounded by a hostile army, the servant panicked—until Elisha prayed:

"Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see."

Suddenly, the veil was lifted. The hills were full of horses and chariots of fire.

The spiritual reality was active, tangible, present—the servant's eyes saw the truth.

That awakening is precisely why Trust Movement is here.

Over time, the reality of spiritual warfare stopped being something abstract and became an unmistakable, constant presence. We saw various battles raging—cultural, spiritual, and moral—with a frequency we couldn't ignore.

Just like recognizing a twin car on the road, once your eyes are opened to the friction between the Kingdom of God and the forces of this dark world, we couldn't unsee it.

So, we decided to start talking about it.

Trust Movement exists because we answered that call: to bring attention to that we all face spiritual battles on a daily basis. We are here to name what is happening, to help others recognize the spiritual ground they're standing on, and to equip believers to fight the battles ahead of them.

The unseen realm is real, the stakes are high, and those who stand with us outnumber those against us.

Do you see these battles?
